Our History
In 1996, under the visionary leadership of Dr. K.Moidu as founder and chairman, KMCT Group of Institutions commenced its educational journey with the establishment of National College of Pharmacy, offering a diploma in pharmacy. Dr.Navas K. M. served as the executive trustee during this period. Since 2021, Dr.Navas K. M. has taken on the role of chairman, and Dr.Ayisha Nazreen is the executive trustee & director. From its modest beginnings with five staff members and 69 students, National College of Pharmacy laid the foundation for a distinguished legacy. Over the years, KMCT has grown into a premier educational and healthcare hub in Kerala, featuring over 27+ successful institutions spanning medical, dental, ayurveda, pharmacy, nursing, allied health science, architecture, polytechnic, engineering, law, management, hotel management, design, and arts and sciences. The institution boasts a student strength exceeding 15,000, offering 150+ courses, employing 4000 individuals, and having a network of over 30,000 alumni globally. In alignment with the government's vision to make Kerala a knowledge-based developed economy by 2030, KMCT has emphasized research and innovation. The institution is currently undergoing a substantial transformation, contributing to Kerala's identity as a higher education hub, healthcare destination, centre for medical technologies, and a start-up and entrepreneurial hub. The journey gained momentum in 2005 with the establishment of a nursing school, followed by the inception of KMCT Hospital and KMCT Ayurveda College in 2006. KMCT Hospital underwent significant expansion, evolving into KMCT Super Specialty Hospital, now equipped with 1200 beds across 7 buildings, including 200 ICU beds, 26 operation theatres, and over 700 doctors specializing in 48 fields. KMCT has been a pioneer in implementing government schemes and has played a pivotal role in healthcare services, offering procedures such as bypass surgery, cancer surgery, neurosurgery, spine surgery, and joint replacement surgery. The institution has also been a significant contributor to employment, creating opportunities for over 1500 individuals. In 2008, KMCT achieved a major milestone with the establishment of KMCT Medical College, and subsequently, a college of nursing was inaugurated. The institution continued to diversify its educational offerings, adding various institutions in 2013, including KMCT Law College, KMCT Arts and Science College Kuttippuram, KMCT College of Architecture, KMCT Polytechnic College, and KMCT College of Allied Health Sciences. Building on this success, KMCT further expanded in 2020 with the establishment of KMCT College of Pharmacy and in 2021 with KMCT College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, KMCT School of Management, and KMCT Innovation and Incubation Council. In subsequent years, KMCT continued its evolution by establishing the Institute of Emerging Technology and Management in 2022, KMCT Institute of Technology and Management in 2023, and in 2024, KMCT School of Design, KMCT School of Business Management, KMCT Institute of Pharmacy, and KMCT Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research.In 2025, with the growing focus on emerging technologies, KMCT expanded its presence by establishing three new campuses, KMCT College of Engineering For Emerging Technologies and Management in Perinthalmanna, Vadakara & Kasaragod
