MD Community Medicine

KMCT Medical College offers the MD Community Medicine (Doctor of Medicine) postgraduate degree course at Mukkam Campus 1, Kozhikode. The programme is conducted in accordance with the guidelines and regulations of the National Medical Commission (NMC), with academic affiliation and award of degree entrusted to the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), Thrissur. A testament to its academic excellence, the college holds an A+ Grade in KUHS QAS Accreditation and an 'A' Grade from NAAC — proudly standing as Kerala's first and only NAAC-accredited medical college.
The MD Community Medicine programme at KMCT Medical College is a 3-year postgraduate course conducted as per NMC postgraduate regulations, combining structured academic learning with clinical, practical, teaching and research training. The programme develops expertise in preventive and social medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion, disease surveillance, health administration and the planning and evaluation of public health programmes. Training is delivered at the KMCT Medical College Hospital — a multi-speciality teaching hospital within the campus that holds Full Accreditation from NABH, the highest level of recognition for quality patient care. KMCT Medical College Hospital, dedicated to instilling hope and healing individuals from all walks of life, has achieved Full Accreditation from NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) — the highest level of recognition awarded by the board — showcasing its steadfast commitment to excellence in patient care and safety. Additionally, its Department of Emergency Medicine has also received NABH accreditation, signifying the highest level of recognition by the Board and showcasing the hospital’s commitment to excellence in patient care.

KMCT Medical College invites applications from candidates who meet the prescribed academic standards and are committed to advancing their career in the medical field. Admission to the postgraduate programme is carried out in line with the regulations of the National Medical Commission, the affiliating university, and the concerned state and central admission authorities. Candidates must have successfully completed the relevant qualifying examinations with the required marks and possess a valid national-level entrance examination score. Applicants are also expected to satisfy age and other regulatory criteria and submit all necessary documents to complete the admission process.
